Marilyn Cohen

Marilyn Cohen is a Senior Financial Services Executive and Manager with deep expertise in building and expanding businesses within highly regulated industries. She is a trusted advisor to corporate clients, delivering financial solutions to CEOs, CFOs, COOs, and Treasurers to improve operational performance and support long-term growth. Throughout her career, Marilyn has been highly effective in positioning an organization’s mission, strengths, and capabilities to drive measurable impact.

In 2002, Marilyn was a founding member and Managing Director of a specialty group at JPMorgan, where she focused on serving hedge funds and private equity firms with particular attention to risk management, compliance, and operational controls. Over a 14-year period, she built a highly profitable, global, client-facing business within the alternative investments industry, an area considered “high risk” by regulators. She is currently building a similar alternative specialty group at BankUnited, a NYSE-listed bank.

Marilyn has been involved in numerous charitable organizations and boards, but her affiliation with CaringKind is the one she holds most personally. Her father lived with Alzheimer’s disease for 20 years before his death in 1988, and Marilyn and her family served as his caregivers at a time when few resources or guidance existed and cognitive decline was rarely discussed openly. In 1990, she joined the board of CaringKind’s predecessor organization to support fundraising efforts and the expansion of services. During her tenure, she held numerous leadership positions including that of Co-President.

Having experienced firsthand the emotional and economic toll of Alzheimer’s disease, Marilyn understands the critical need for compassion, expertise, and sustained support. She is proud of CaringKind’s remarkable evolution and its enduring ability to bring dignity and humility into the lives of those impacted by Alzheimer’s and related dementias. She considers CaringKind the gold standard in the field.
