CaringKind is working with Dr. Marie Truglio-Londrigan-- a Professor from Pace University, Lienhard School of Nursing-- who is planning a research project on Alzheimer’s and caregiving. The purpose of the project is to identify the types of decisions that caregivers face as their family member or friend progresses through the stages of Alzheimer’s. In order to identify these decision points and the process of making decisions, it is important to speak with experts-- those who are living the experience of caring for family members or friends currently or who have been former caregivers. To accomplish this the principle investigator will be conducting focus groups throughout the summer and fall of 2017. There will be 2 different focus groups and each focus group will accommodate 5-8 individuals. Each focus group will meet once for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. The exact time is yet to be determined; but, the times will be both in the early afternoon and the early evening. The location of the focus groups will be at CaringKind, 360 Lexington Avenue, NY. If you are interested in sharing your experiences and expertise, which will assist us in future program development, please contact her by email or phone.
