Judith D. Grimaldi is a founding partner in the pioneering elder law firm GRIMALDI YEUNG LAW GROUP. Ms. Grimaldi's perspective on the issues facing the elderly and disabled is uniquely shaped by more than a decade of field experience as a social worker.
Ms. Grimaldi is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School. She also holds an MSW from Hunter College of the City of New York and a BA from Marymount Manhattan College with a certificate in Gerontology. Ms. Grimaldi is proud to have served as an adjunct professor at two of her alma maters, Marymount Manhattan College and Brooklyn Law School.
Ms. Grimaldi served as Director of Community Care Organization of Lutheran Medical Center (now known as NYU Langone). In addition, she was a community relations and family coordinator at South Beach Psychiatric Center’s Brooklyn site. Each of these positions provided her with unique, first-hand encounters with the day-to-day impact of aging and disability.
As a Certified Elder Law Attorney for over 25 years, Ms. Grimaldi has represented the rights of the elderly and disabled. She has special expertise in Medicare and Medicaid, health law, trusts, wills, and estates. Her particular focus is on family caregivers and home care. She is a Certified Elder Law Attorney as approved by the American Bar Association and the National Elder Law Foundation.
After an extensive peer review and rating process, New York Magazine has named Ms. Grimaldi one of New York's "Best Lawyers" 2008 to the present. She has been designated a "Super Lawyer" since 2009. She has been named one of "New York's Women Leaders in the Law 2012" by New York Magazine. Ms. Grimaldi has been named an Outstanding Woman in Business and Community Leadership by NIA Community Services Network 2017. She is also Peer Review Rated for ethical standards and legal ability through Martindale Hubbell.
Ms. Grimaldi is a member and Past Member of the Board of Directors of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), member of New York NAELA and one of its past presidents, Member of NAELA's Planning Committee, and member of NAELA's Council of Advanced Practitioners (CAP). She has recently been named as a Fellow of NAELA.
Ms. Grimaldi is a past Chair of the New York State Bar Elder Law & Special Needs Section, a Charter member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners, and a past Chair of the New York City Bar Association's Legal Problems of the Aging Committee
Ms. Grimaldi has authored a book, "5 @ 55, The 5 Essential Legal Documents You Need by Age 55.”
Ms. Grimaldi is also active in her own neighborhood of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. She served on the Committee of New York Community Board 10 for over 20 years, where she has helped to develop the Age-Friendly Bay Ridge initiative. She was recently honored by the Bay Ridge Center for her long career of competent and compassionate service to the elderly residents of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
Pauline Yeung-Ha is a founding partner in the Grimaldi Yeung Law Group. Ms. Yeung-Ha concentrates in the practice areas of Elder Law and Estate Planning and Special Needs Planning.
Ms. Yeung-Ha is a Member of the House of Delegates of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), and a Trustee on the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Bar Association. She also serves as one of the Board of Directors of the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).
Pauline Yeung-Ha extends her work with the elder community as Secretary on the Board of Directors of CaringKind (formerly Alzheimer’s Association, NYC Chapter), and as Chair Emeritus of the Pro Bono Clinic of the Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY). The Pro Bono Clinic was named as AABANY’s Committee of the Year for 2016 and Program of the Year for 2017 and awarded New York State Bar Association’s Bar Leaders Innovation Award for 2020.
Ms. Yeung-Ha’s recognitions include being an Honoree of the St. John’s University School of Law Chapter of the Asian-Pacific American Law Student’s Association (APALSA) in 2018, “Super Lawyer” from 2015 to 2022, and “Best Lawyer” from 2012 to 2022. In 2022, Pauline Yeung-Ha accepted an award as an Honoree of Women’s History Month Celebration from the Brooklyn DA’s office, the Brooklyn Borough President’s office and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. She was one of ten successful Women Business Owners of New York City nominated for this award. In 2017, she was an Honoree by General Human Outreach in the Community, Inc. Ms. Yeung-Ha was an Honoree of the Chinese-American Planning Council, Inc., Brooklyn Branch, for service and dedication to the Brooklyn Chinese community in 2015, and NAPABA’s “Best Lawyer Under 40” in 2011.
In 2010, Pauline Yeung-Ha was awarded a Citation awarded by former Assemblywoman (now Congresswoman) Grace Meng. Ms. Yeung-Ha was also key speaker for Assemblywoman Grace Meng’s Senior Law & Financial Planning Workshop. Ms. Yeung-Ha regularly gives community seminars in Cantonese Chinese on a wide variety of elder law and estate planning topics.
She received her undergraduate degree from Vassar College and her law degree from St. John’s University School of Law, and is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey.
