- Learn to identify the risks associated with “complicated grief” in dementia caregivers along with practical strategies to provide meaningful support. Dr. Supiano bring over 40 years of clinical experience including care of older adults with depression and multiple chronic health concerns, end-of-life care, and bereavement care. Dr. Supiano discusses her latest research in pre-loss grief groups for dementia family caregivers to minimize complicated and prolonged grief.

- Led by Dr. Fayron Epps – leading expert and researcher promoting awareness, education, and support for families affected by dementia within African American communities. Dr. Epps is joined by Tonya Brown and Mark Williams, two caregivers involved in the Caregiving While Black program. Together they discuss the unique experiences and challenges of Black care partners, along with solutions centered around tailored education, community and building trust.

Support Group Leader Training
CaringKind’s Support Group Leader Training Workshops are offered several times each year and are open to health care professionals and former care partners who are interested in leading one of our support groups.
This intensive training incorporates both educational materials with experiential group learning and includes information about dementia, care-partnering and how support groups work, as well as an overview of services offered by CaringKind.

Understanding Dementia for Professionals
This educational seminar provides an opportunity for professionals to learn about Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia, and how to apply this information to their profession.
