Sarah Charness is an American female electric violinist, composer, and producer based in New York, NY. She creates a singular blend of music that straddles the worlds of classical, pop and electronic dance music (EDM). Her vibrant, physically thrilling live performances continuously captivate audiences as she performs on her signature hot-pink six-string violin. She has performed internationally both as a solo artist and as a member of numerous ensembles with appearances at Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York City, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C., The Chicago Theater, Massey Hall in Toronto, and the Prague Opera House in the Czech Republic.
As a studio musician from NYC, she has recorded for major motion picture soundtracks, TV, and video games. She has performed live at a multitude of celebrity, branding, fashion, sporting, and corporate events including The New York Knicks halftime Show, the Chicago Bulls Halftime Show, the Maxim Hot 100 Party, and on the Runways of Fashion Week.
In addition to a multitude of performances in leading nightclubs around the world, Charness has also performed with acts including The Chainsmokers, the Jonas Brothers, and Sigala, and has opened for artists including Steve Aoki, Diana Ross, Ne-Yo, Flo Rida and Jennifer Hudson.She is currently the lead violinist of new age rock band "Age of Madness" featuring Broadway's Jeremy Jordan.
EDUCATION & ACHIEVEMENTS
Sarah has a Bachelors of Music from the University of Michigan and received a full scholarship to the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. Charness has appeared on “The Today Show” (NBC-TV), “NY-1” (Time Warner Cable) and on “NBC Nightly News” (NBC-TV), with print features appearing in DJ Times, Crain’s New York, The Daily, The International Musician and others.
MUSIC
The violin was always been an integral part of Sarah’s early childhood, however as a young adult, Sarah became interested in both composition and production. In 2015, she released her first track "We Came to Party" with DJ Duo Disco Killerz, which reached #48 on the Beatport “Hot 100 Electro House” chart.
As a follow up single, Charness and Disco Killerz teamed with British Pop Singer, Jem Cooke to release “Grip” which received international recognition. In 2018, Charness and Disco Killerz co-released "Beautiful Life" electronic pop sensation Delaney Jane Aand
