Alissa Anderegg is a philanthropist, media innovator, and former Miss World America—the United States representative of Miss World. As Miss World America, she was an ambassador for CaringKind as part of her award-winning platform of Alzheimer’s Advocacy, in which she encouraged others to educate, empower and activate for the cause. During her 20+ years of Alzheimer’s activism, she has shared her story to millions in the Emmy-winning HBO documentary The Alzheimer’s Project, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, a keynote speaking tour, and as a contributor to the book Alzheimer’s In America: The Shriver Report on Women and Alzheimer’s alongside former President Joe Biden, Barbra Streisand, former First Lady Barbara Bush, and more. In 2016, she was honored to be chosen in the inaugural class of Maria Shriver’s Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement in recognitio of her impact in advocating for youth caregivers.
An award-winning scholar, Alissa received her B.A. from Duke University and Master’s in Journalism from Northwestern University. She currently resides in New York City, where she is involved with the New York Junior League, The Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation’s Young Professionals Committee, the New York Public Library Young Lions, and, of course, CaringKind.
