Lauren Vlachos

Lauren Vlachos, M.S., CFRE
Executive Director, Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center

Lauren Vlachos is a mission-driven nonprofit leader with more than two decades of experience turning vision into impact. As Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center (ADRC) on Long Island, she combines strategic leadership with deep community connection to serve individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

A former professional with the Boy Scouts of America, Lauren’s commitment to youth development continues today as a Scout leader for Scouts BSA Girl Troop 539.  Lauren is a  Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Niger, West Africa), a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), and holds a master’s in Nonprofit Management from The New School.

Lauren has built a career empowering teams, driving sustainable growth, and delivering compassionate, community-centered care. Under her leadership, ADRC has expanded services, strengthened partnerships, and launched creative initiatives — like the annual Memory Walk & Spring Festival and an annual Education Conference for caregivers— to elevate awareness and inspire action.

Lauren is proud to balance her professional mission with her most important role — being a mom to three children (plus three pets!). Whether she’s expanding ADRC’s programs, organizing community walks, or mentoring the next generation on the scout trail, Lauren leads by example: with empathy, purpose, and the belief that strong communities start with service.
