Rinat Lavi

Rinat Lavi is an interior designer who brings considerable knowledge and style to every project, approaching the process more like an editor than author – she helps clients polish their personal taste to a professional shine.

Born in Tel Aviv, Rinat moved to the states as a teenager and has the effect of a fully-fledged New Yorker. After completing a BFA in Interior Design at NYIT and continuing graduate studies in Decorative Arts at NYU, Lavi spent nine years in the shop of a high-end residential decorator before opening her own studio in 2004. She has been featured in a number of publications, including House Beautiful, NYC&G, and New York Spaces.

She has been involved in several volunteer efforts, including a past membership at the NY Junior League, and producing cultural events at the Sid Jacobson JCC in Roslyn where she lives. She has also initiated a book club that currently has 18 members.

In 2019, and as an entrepreneur, Rinat opened a design shop called Marais Home in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Unfortunately, it was closed after one year due to the pandemic. But during its course, Rinat was involved with a few of the local artists to promote well-crafted art and furnishing along with cultivating a community of local residents with various activities.

Rinat is currently working on the design of a large residence in Jerusalem and in East Hampton along with residential apartments in the NYC area. She loves to travel and immerse in the local cultures. Recent trips included Vientnam, Morocco and France.

She lives in Roslyn with her husband, where she had raised her two sons who are now both living out of state with their significant others.
