Helpline (646) 744-2900 Ways to Give

“Staying positive, I’ve had about six life threatening illnesses, been able to survive them all, so it’s a matter of staying focused. Again I tribute a significate amount of my tranquility with my marriage. I have a sense of humor which i appreciate more than most others, but it does keep things in perspective. So I managed to find humor in almost every situation, and i live in the present and manage in spite of the particularly current catastrophic possibilities. I’ve managed to stay focused and keep my eye on the ball, and for the most part managed to enjoy my life, mostly due to family and friends.”

“What’s important is focusing on the things that matter and accepting the limitations. There’s only so much that I can do. And I try to stay within those parameters. And so far I’m comfortable with the way I’ve managed. The future remains to be seen.”

“I’m aware of all the terrible consequences, but at the moment I’m doing well. It’s very hard to conceive of at some point becoming a paperweight. But again, that’s not my present situation, and I chose not to focus on it. At the moment my association with the diagnosis ironically has had a positive impact on my life, and that I’ve met wonderful people here at CaringKind who freely enrich my life. I’ve been attending two programs weekly, which are quite different, but there’s a hiatus, there’s an interruption in the program before it begins again, and I find that I miss the time here. I miss the people I meet here.”
