Summer Internship Program

CaringKind’s Summer Internship Program offers students and emerging professionals an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector while making a tangible difference for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.  

Volunteer

Whether you can give a few hours or make a more significant commitment, there’s a place for you in our CaringKind community. Most volunteer opportunities take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at our offices located at 360 Lexington Avenue.

Caregiver Champion

Our Caregiver Champion program offers you the opportunity to honor a caregiver whose story exudes commitment, affection, and dedication—whether it’s someone you know or even yourself.

Administration

Assist in the many administrative tasks needed to keep our organization running smoothly, including special projects, mailings, collating and copying.

Health Fairs, Street Fairs, Agency Fairs

Staff a table at health fairs, agency fairs, and street fairs (Spring/Summer/Fall). Answer basic questions on Alzheimer’s disease to senior groups, corporate offices, community centers, and schools. Volunteer training provided by CaringKind staff. English, Bi-lingual Spanish, Chinese and Russian speaking volunteers needed.

Hours: daytime hours, 7 days a week

Connect2Culture®

Are you interested in helping participants of programs at cultural institutions around the five boroughs? Volunteers may be asked to help with program logistics before the program and also ensure an enjoyable experience during and after the event. Some programs will include art making, gallery discussions, and other cultural forms of engagement. Light lifting, walking, and standing for short periods probable. Most programs will be in the afternoons during the week. If you’re interested, please complete the volunteer application, and you will be contacted soon afterward.

Special Events

CaringKind’s signature events, including the Forget-Me-Not Gala and our Annual Dementia Caregiving Conference, bring our community together for unforgettable moments of purpose, generosity, and connection. These gatherings raise vital funds to ensure that individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia never face the journey alone.

In addition to these events, our Athletes to End Alzheimer’s program unites runners, cyclists, and other athletes who dedicate their training and competitions to raising awareness and support for our mission.

Whether you join us as a guest, sponsor, committee member, or athlete, your involvement directly strengthens our mission and expands our reach. We also welcome volunteers who help bring these events to life through set-up, guest registration, and community outreach.
