Connect2Living: Scaling Support, Deepening Impact

Elenora Tornatore-Mikesh
President and CEO, etornatore@cknyc.org

Dear CaringKind Community,
As we move through another remarkable year of progress and partnership, I want to take a moment to reflect on the heart of our mission: building a community where no one faces dementia alone.

At CaringKind, we are Connect2Living, linking individuals and families to compassionate care, life-changing support, and the knowledge that they are not alone on this journey.

Over the past year, we’ve deepened our impact in measurable ways. Thousands of caregivers have accessed our Helpline, support groups, education workshops, and social work services. From newly
diagnosed individuals to those navigating the late stages of dementia, CaringKind has remained a trusted guide, offering dignity, connection, and hope.

But our mission is not only to serve; it is to scale. The challenges are growing, and so must we.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce several bold initiatives on the horizon:

2026 Northeast Dementia Conference:

CaringKind will host the region’s most comprehensive conference on dementia care, innovation, and research, convening leading professionals, families, and advocates to advance solutions and share best practices.

Expansion of Evidence-Based Programs:

We are scaling proven programs such as our Connect2Music and Connect2Tech initiatives, bringing joy, engagement, and tools for better daily living into more homes, facilities, and communities than ever before.

More Support, More Access:

We’re investing in multilingual resources, expanding our social work and helpline teams, and strengthening our community partnerships, especially in Black and Brown communities where disparities in diagnosis and care We are proud of our BlueZone challenge in the Bronx, serving the community where dementia prevalence is at the highest in the nation. CaringKind was founded on the belief

that connection is the most powerful form of care. Today, Connect2Living is not just a tagline, it’s a promise. Together, we will continue to build bridges of care across all boroughs, neighborhoods, and communities.

Thank you for being an essential part of our work. With your support, we are not just imagining a better future for families impacted by dementia; we are creating it. I look forward to seeing you all at our Walk and Brain Health event in Central Park on Saturday, October 18th!

Warmly,

Eleonora Tornatore-Mikesh
